I think that the worst thing that you can look for, is to become someone else, it might not be realistic for you, and you are special and unique, and don't need to become someone else, you only need to learn how to love and value yourself.
But.. let's assume it, you want to lose weight!
So what should you do about your weight?
The first thing that you need to realize is that you need to look for a weight that's right for you that your goals must be realistic.
Most of the people that want to lose weight are looking for the magic diet, or the magic pill, anything magic that will quickly and safely transform them without any suffering. But I'm sorry to tell you that this is not realistic. If you lose weight quickly with extreme measures you will usually gain back all (and more) pounds that you lost.
Weight management must be seen as a long term success, you need to change your habits and adopt strategies that you can maintain for your lifetime, or you will live with an endless diet and suffering.
Besides when you donīt feel comfortable with how you look, how your natural body is, you deny yourself from all the pleasure and joy that life offers. And you deserve to have it!
Who's body are we talking about? It's yours isn't it?
Many times the family and some friends are a major source of stress, because the often criticize your appearance or make comments like:
"Oh, how pretty you would be if you just lost a couple of pounds"
Well, they are being hurtful and destructive, they are destroying your self-esteem instead of building it up. They might think that they are helping you, but they aren't. It's your body that they are talking about, and it should only be your problem if you have any, so let them know: it's my body and it's my business, so stop talking about it because I donīt like it!
You have an unique beauty to cultivate, whether you are thick or thin. You might not look like the fashion model that you like, but you are unique, there's no other human being like you on the planet and it will never be one Yes, you are different because you are special, and this should always be in your mind!
Who says that life is a competition?
It is not, and it shouldn't be . Some are beautiful in one way, some are beautiful in other way, but you have your own beauty and it's much more important than your weight.
Should you give up the idea of losing weight?
Only you can answer to this question. There's a big difference between not fitting into a size 8 dress, and not fitting into a chair. Do you need to lose only a few pounds? Or you really have a weight problem? It's not your family or friends matter, it's only you and your physician's matter.
Insanity is defined as doing the same thing again and again expecting a different result. And the experts say that 95 percent of those that lose weight, gain it back again (in most of the cases with some extra pounds)
Now you are planning to lose weight. But are you going to lose weight doing the same thing that you did last year? You better start thinking of something different, or the next year you will be on the same place than now.
Is it possible to break the cycle of losing and gaining?
Yes it is and you can do it! But it won't come from doing a different diet or buying another exercise gadget, it will only come from a change in your fitness lifestyle.
Are you looking for a better diet? I'm sorry you won't find it here, because the simple truth is that dieting doesn't work.
How long can you live with an unrealistic exercise plan, or eating two shakes a day, or eating only one type of food?
For how long can you deprive yourself from the pleasure of eating what you like to eat?
You can only lose weight changing your food and exercise lifestyles, although that might seem an Herculean task.
The first thing that you must do, is to stop thinking that you will never eat again the food that you like, or that you will not be aBle to skip some days of jogging or aerobic. Itīs your life that we are talking about, and life must include fun and joy.
You only need to start being conscious of your behaviors as you change them, and with practice this will just become automatic. It's like driving a car, when you learn how to do it , you are absolutely unaware of what your feet are doing. And for losing your extra weight you only need to learn a new skill.
This is what I call a real weight management: To learn a new skill while you practice it.
Itīs not about losing "x" pounds in "x" time, it's about achieving healthy habits that include sustainable weight loss.
You are a human being and as such you have a powerful mind that you can put into work to help you lose weight. Learn how to use mind control, and you can reach anything that you can imagine.
